Effect of parent education program based on theraplay on parenting attitude and parenting stress of their mother and temperament of high risk infants

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of education program based on theraplay on parenting attitude and parenting stress. An experimental pre-post test design was used. The data collected from May, 2006 to May, 2007. The participants were 45 high risk infants and their mothers. The program was provided for 4weeks. Data were analyzed using SPSS 10.0 program with paired t-test. The results had significantly higher score in parenting attitude, parenting stress and infant¡¯s temperament, compared to the pre-test, post-test. The results suggest that parent education program based on theraplay can be used to improve parenting attitude, parenting stress and infant¡¯s temperament.
